Airport Management takes all safety and noise-related complaints seriously and ensure they are reviewed and addressed through the appropriate regulatory channels. With that said, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) maintains exclusive authority over airspace management, aircraft routing, flight altitudes, and operational compliance. Local airport management does not have the authority to impose disciplinary action or issue violations related to flight paths or altitudes.

The Essex County Airport does maintain a noise-abatement policy and promotes “Fly Neighborly” procedures to all of our operators. The noise complaints received through our website are tracked and filed so that I can continue to engage our operators so that they are aware of the noise complaints coming from the local communities.
